In 2017, Americans generated a total of 80.1 million tons of containers and packaging waste. Corrugated boxes were the largest single product category that year at 32.5 million tons. While cardboard is one of the most recycled materials, wax-coated corrugated boxes are usually not accepted by local recycling centers and municipalities, which creates a huge waste problem.
Our box was invented with the specific intent to provide a superior product for growers, and one that is better for our planet as well. We ensure all of our customers have the resources they need to properly recycle our boxes at their end of life.
Right now, approximately 80% of our customers recycle their boxes with private haulers. We are working with our vendors and suppliers to develop a complete closed-loop system for production and post-consumer waste collection by the year 2021. To read more about our closed-loop initiative, click
